George Edmund Alleyn

Born in 1931, French Canadian artist George Edmund Alleyn grew up in the Anglo-Irish community in Quebec, giving him a peculiar perspective as an artist, within the social and political environment of Canada.  From paintings to even sculptures, this is an artist who has made his mark within the historical canon of Canadian art. Not afraid to experiment with different styles and themes throughout his career, his interests extended from a wide ranges of subject matters, which would all find a place in his artwork; anything from certain aspects of Canadian aboriginal culture, to the dilemmas of man and its evolving relationship with technology.
